A little about myself!
Thanks for stopping by and having a bit of visual intercourse with my artwork. I refuse to write about myself as a third person, so you might find the following a bit blog-ish. My name is Jorge Macswiney and I make Pop Surrealist art under the name Macsorro. I was born in October 1981, in Michoacan Mexico. Two friends got me started showing my art in galleries, James and Mictlan, I haven't stopped ever since. I work mostly out of a cluttered and badly lit studio, emerging now and then for tacos, a cold coke and the latest issue of Jux. I live in Los Angeles, it's weird, gorgeous and challenging, I love it. I'm an observationalist of life, that's what inspires me and that's what I paint about. I hope you enjoy my art.
I am a resident artist at The Hive Gallery and Studios. It's located at 729 S. Spring St. Los Angeles CA 90014. There not only will you see my newest work, but you will also see some of the work that perhaps is "unlike" what I normally do. Ever wonder what happens to the pencil studies before the paintings? In agreement with Nathan Cartwright of The Hive Gallery and Studios I will be one of the featured artist at the 4th year aniversary show next year(2009). I'm very exited and I'm already working on the pieces. They will be packed with more detail than ever. :)
